[World Games 2013 Cali]Kudo Exhibition Matches
On Monday, July 29 and Tuesday, July 30, the first World Games in South America were held over two days in Colombia. As far as Kudo is concerned, 12 exhibition matches were held in Buga, 55 km away from Cali, the main location for these World Games. The local organization was first hoping for a 60-person tournament, but the International World Games Association usually holds such type of tournament for sports that are already members. As such, the 12 exhibition matches format was retained, waiting for Kudo’s accession to membership.
Aside from kudo, Buga was also hosting the futsal and submission arts competitions, the former overlapping with kudo. On July 30, Colombia played the futsal finals against neighboring Venezuela and won the victory at home. Kudo and futsal were actually held at the same location, with kudo being competed during day time and the futsal’s semi-finals and finals being played at night.
